Due to heightened work volume and the increased complexity of exam requirements mandated by the FMCSA we are only accepting a limited number of new commercial motor vehicle driver exams. When you have an appointment for a CDL Medical exam at Adept Testing, we want you to understand that this is not a brief physical exam. We follow the guidance set forth by the FMCSA Medical Expert Panel. Therefore, before arriving for your appointment, please gather and have the following information in hand:
- Two years of medical records from your primary care provider.
- Record of any visit to ER or Urgent Care in the past two years.
- Records from any visit to a specialist in the past two years.
- Records from any previous sleep study performed.
- Complete list of current medications.
We can send requests for these records with a signed release from you, providers are allowed 30 days to respond to the request. Usually you can receive them quicker by going to the office and requesting the records in person. There may be a fee from your provider for reproducing these records. If you arrive without these items we can still proceed with the exam, but you may be required to make an additional appointment to complete your medical certification.
While these may be requirements that you are not accustomed to, they
allow us to perform a proper CDL Medical exam. If your exam is
performed by Adept Testing, your employers will have the peace of mind
that you
are truly medically qualified to drive.
